Pontevedra is a province in the southwestern part of the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It is bordered by the provinces of A Coruña, Lugo, and Ourense, and by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean.

Much of the Rías Baixas Denominación de Origen (DO) is located in the province. The province similarly shares the Parque Nacional das Illas Atlánticas de Galicia national park with neighbouring A Coruña province.

The population of the province is 919,934 (2002), of which no more than 8% live in the capital, the city of Pontevedra. The province's capital is not its largest city, which is instead the port of Vigo with a population of 300,000. In addition, there are 62 municipalities in the province.
