A pool, billiard[s] or snooker hall or parlo[u]r (sometimes also written poolhall, snookerhall) is a place where people get together for playing pool and/or other cue sports such as carom billiards or snooker. (The term can also be used as synonymous with "billiard room", e.g. in a home.) Such establishments often serve alcohol and may have gaming machines, darts, foosball and other games on the side.
Pool halls feature prominently in the book and movie The Hustler, and the sequel, The Color of Money, as well as Poolhall Junkies.
