Purkinje Incorporated is privately owned and operated with over 300 employees located within their corporate offices in St. Louis, Montreal, Chicago, New Hampshire, and Hyderabad (India). They currently serve over 5000 physicians in clinics, community health centers, and hospitals throughout North America. The company offers an integrated suite of solutions in the areas of practice management, electronic health records, personal health records, and electronic prescribing. In addition Purkinje provides a series of professional services to physician practices that further maximize efficiency, cost savings, and income including billing services, transcription, and medication dispensing.

The principal owner and financier of Purkinje is John Doerr. Mr. Doerr is a partner in Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers and has provided venture capital funding to some of the most successful technology companies in the world, including: Compaq, Netscape, Symantec, Sun Microsystems, Amazon.com, and Google. He currently serves on the boards of Google, Intuit, Amazon.com, Sun Microsystems, and Purkinje. His success in venture capital has garnered national attention and he is currently featured on Forbes Magazine's exclusive "Midas" list and is widely regarded as the top technology venture capitalist in the world.[1]
