QuackerJack, nicknamed QJ, is the official mascot of the Long Island Ducks, who play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He is a white duck with a large orange beak and legs, white feathers, and a large white tail. QJ wears a complete Ducks home uniform with green and white sneakers. He debuted on March 18, 2000 at Citibank Park in Central Islip, New York. Since then QJ has provided Ducks fans with entertainment during games and continues to make public appearances around the Long Island area.[1] He is a duck as a reference to the Ducks' name and to represent Long Island's duck-raising heritage. QJ's name is a play on words combination with the brand Cracker Jack, a popular baseball game food, and the quacking sound of a duck.
