Murad Qureshi

Murad Qureshi is a British Labour Party politician.

He was a councillor in the City of Westminster 1998-2006, and was elected on the Labour Party's party list to the London Assembly in the 2004 assembly elections.

He is Deputy Chair of the London Assembly's Environment Committee, Member of the London Assembly's Transport Committee, and Member of the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority, which oversees the London Fire Brigade. Until 27 June 2006, he was a member of the Metropolitan Police Authority, which oversees the Metropolitan Police.

Murad Qureshi belongs to a politically active family. His father is Mushtaq Qureshi, a Labour Party Councillor. His sister, Papya Qureshi, also a Labour Party Councillor in the same council.
