Ramat HaSharon (Hebrew: רמת השרון‎, lit. Heights of the Sharon) is a city in Israel, on the central coastal strip in the south of the Sharon region, bordering Tel Aviv to the south and Herzliya to the north. It is part of the Gush Dan Tel Aviv metropolitan area in the Tel Aviv District. It is a sister city to Tallahassee, Florida, USA. [1]

Ramat HaSharon is also home to one of the locations for Skateboarders to practice and show-off their skills. Supposedly, many people, even from the far north and south of Israel, come to Ramat HaSharon for this Skaters' hanging spot (Hebrew: כיכר הסקייטרים‎). Lately, the Square has been at a centre of controversy, when the Ramat HaSharon municipality decided to change the square into a small public garden. The Skaters' community arranged a demonstration against this decision on 19 January, 2007. [1]
