Ravenna Township, Portage County, Ohio

Ravenna Township is one of eighteen civil townships in Portage County, Ohio, United States. It is located in the central portion of the county, and borders or touches the following other townships and municipalities:
- Rootstown Township, on the south;
- Brimfield Township, on the southwest (touches, but does not border);
- Franklin Township, on the west;
- The city of Streetsboro, on the northwest (touches, but does not border);
- Shalersville Township, on the north;
- Freedom Township, on the northeast;
- Charlestown Township, on the east;
- Edinburg Township, on the southeast (touches, but does not border)
Ravenna Township is formed from Town 3, Range 8 of the Connecticut Western Reserve. The city of Ravenna, Ohio is surrounded by the township. The city became independent of the township in 1993 [1]. As of 2000, there were 9,270 people in the township. Ravenna Township covers an area of 20 mi².
