The party doesn't take public money (other parties take it from budget) because of not getting more than 3% votes in election. and it has financial problems. It consistently enjoys in elections the support of approximately 1-2% of voters. UPR's candidates were starting from a new conservative-liberal organisation Janusz Korwin-Mikke's Platform (Platforma Janusza Korwin-Mikke). PJKM didn't manage to cross the required 5% threshold in the 2005 parliamentary elections. The party had the support of 1.57% of voters. In last election UPR's candidates started from lists o League of Polish Families but with no coalition. List got about 1,5% votes and didn't get to Sejm (Polish Parliament) and will still not get any donations.
A special colour variation of St George's Cross is used here as a traditional symbol of a struggle for principles. The colours of the flag represent: a struggle for allegiance (blue), virtue (white) and freedom (black).
