Reeves Gabrels

Reeves Gabrels is an American guitarist, best known for his 11-year partnership with David Bowie.

Once taught by jazz guitarist John Scofield and introduced to Bowie by his wife, Gabrels joined forces with the Bowi and the Sales brothers for the eighties hard-rock band Tin Machine. Later, Gabrels becoming an essential part of Bowie's nineties sound, most notably on Outside, Earthling, and later 'hours...', which he co-produced. Gabrels also helped create the soundtrack to the computer games Deus Ex and The Nomad Soul.

Gabrels also worked with Robert Smith of The Cure during the late nineties. Gabrels and Smith collaborated on The Cure's track "Wrong Number", "A Sign From God" (as Cogasm) and "Yesterday's Gone" (on his third solo offering 'Ulysses'). Prior to his involvement with Tin Machine, Gabrels was a member of Rubber Rodeo, Modern Farmer, and The Bentmen.
