Regional District of East Kootenay, British Columbia

The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) is a regional district in the Canadian province of British Columbia, Canada. As of the 2001 census, the population was 56,291. The area is 27,560.48 square kilometres (10,641.16 sq mi). The seat is in Cranbrook. Other important population centers include the cities of Kimberley and Fernie, and the district municipality of Invermere.
