Regional county municipalities of Quebec

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Following is a list of the regional county municipalities, territories, and newly amalgamated cities (villes) in the province of Quebec, Canada. Quebec used to be divided into counties, but in the early 1980s switched over to a new system of county regional municipalities. Few follow any of the previous counties' borders or retain their names (see this site (French) for more information). Statistics Canada recognized Quebec's new system in 1991.
