Regnier II, Count of Hainault was born in 890.

He was the son of Regnier I, Count of Hainaut and Hersent of France. His mother is considered a possible daughter of Charles the Bald and Ermentrude.

Regnier II married Adelaide of Burgundy, daughter of Richard, Duke of Burgundy and Adelaide of Auxerre. They had a son: Regnier III, Count of Hainaut.
