Reinhardt College is a private four-year co-educational liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Its main campus is located in Waleska, Georgia on 540 acres of land in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains. The North Fulton Center in Alpharetta, Georgia is Reinhardt’s satellite campus.

In the early 1880s, Captain A.M. Reinhardt and his brother-in-law John J.A. Sharp envisioned a school in Waleska that would give students an opportunity to advance beyond the primary grades. A devout Methodist, Captain Reinhardt requested the North Georgia Conference of the Methodist Church for help in establishing such a school. The Conference chartered Reinhardt Academy in 1883, naming the Reverend James T. Linn as its president and first teacher. In 1884, the institution held its first classes for twelve students in an old wood shop. In its early years, the school provided instruction for all ages and grade levels and a curriculum designed to train teachers and ministers. The academy gradually evolved into a privately supported two-year college and was accredited to offer associate degrees as a Level I institution by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 1953. In 1994, the Commission on Colleges accredited Reinhardt as a Level II institution; in that same year, the school awarded its first bachelor’s degrees in business administration.

The Burgess Administration Building is Reinhardt's most characteristic building. The Hill Freeman library holds some 131,000 books, periodicals, and audiovisual materials. Other important buildings at Reinhardt include the Falany Performing Arts Center, which houses the college's music program and performance space, the Fincher Visual Arts Center, and the Brown Athletic Center.

Students reside in four dormatories and two apartment-style complexes. The Hasty Student Life Center is currently under construction.

The campus is also home to the Funk Heritage Center, Georgia's Official Frontier and Southeastern Indian Interpretive Center. The Center features contemporary Native American art, exhibits on Native American culture, an extensive collection of hand tools, and a recreated Appalachian settlement village.

Reinhardt's campus is known for its natural beauty. The artificial spring-fed Lake Mullenix provides a setting for relaxation and instruction, and Reinhardt's arboretum comprises one of the finest and most varied collections of plants on the Eastern seaboard.

In the fall of 2006, Reinhardt enrolled 1060 students, with the majority on the Waleska campus and the remaining at the North Fulton Center in Alpharetta. Of those enrolled at the Waleska campus, approximately 50% live in residence halls. Thirty-eight percent of Reinhardt students are upperclassmen (juniors and seniors); 87% are full-time, 13% are part-time. Most students are residents of Georgia.

Reinhardt's male to female ratio is 41:59.

Reinhardt's student to faculty ratio is 12:1, with an average class size of 14.

The Student Activities Council (SAC) plans activities such as dances, service projects, coffee houses and movie nights. Recognized student groups include those devoted to service, leadership, the arts and music, spiritual growth, and history, biology, and other academic disciplines. Students also run a newspaper (The Reinhardt Hiltonian) and a television station (RCTV).

Reinhardt is a member of the Southern States Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Women's sports include basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. Men's sports include basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, and soccer. Teams compete as the Eagles, under the colors blue and gold.
