Buinsk, Republic of Tatarstan

Buinsk (Russian: Буинск; Tatar: Bua) is a town in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, located on the left bank of the Karla River (left tributary of the Sviyaga), 137 km south-west of Kazan. It is the administrative center of Buinsky District. Population: 19,736 (2002 Census); 16,800 (1989 Census).

It was first mentioned in a chronicle in 1691. Town status was granted to it in 1780.
