Richard O'Donnell (born September 12, 1988, Sheffield) is an English footballer, who currently plays for Sheffield Wednesday.

Although he is currently an Academy player, he was called up to the senior squad at the start of the 2006-07 season and was on the bench for the League Cup tie against Wrexham. His childhood hero is Hillsborough legend Kevin Pressman.

O'Donnell joined York City on loan on March 1, 2007 and is eligible to stay with York City as long as the arrangement suits O'Donnell and the two clubs as he still has scholar status as a member of Sheffield Wednesdays' Academy set up.[1] O'Donnell was recalled by Sheffield Wednesday on March 22 2007.[2]
