Richard Wood, nicknamed Batman, (born May 31, 1953 in Elizabeth, NJ) is a retired National Football League linebacker.

Wood played from 1975 to 1984 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Wood went to college at the University of Southern California where he was a three time All-American. The USC Trojans won two National Championships during Woods' playing years.

He currently coaches american football at the high school level in Tampa.

His son, Marlon Wood plays wide receiver for the University of Washington.
