River Stour
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Stour is the name of several rivers in England:
- River Stour, East Anglia
- River Stour, Worcestershire
- River Stour, Warwickshire
- River Stour, Kent. The source rivers are: River East Stour, River Upper Great Stour, River Great Stour, River Little Stour.
- River Stour, Dorset
The river-name Stour, very common in England, does not occur at all in Wales;[1] it is of ambiguous origin: recently[2] it has been suggested that an Old European river-name was taken for an Old English adjective.
