Robert Luketic

Robert Luketic (Croatian: Luketić) is an Australian film director. He directed Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! and Legally Blonde.

Born in Sydney, Australia, Robert Luketic cultivated his film career early when he won his first award for "Best Film" at the ATOM Film Festival at the age of 15. Luketic went on to study at the Victorian College of Arts – School of Film and Television (VCA), one of Australia's most prestigious film schools.

Luketic first attracted Hollywood's attention with his award-winning short film Titsiana Booberini. After screening to much acclaim at several festivals within Australia, Titsiana Booberini became a hit at many internationally renowned festivals including Sundance, Telluride, Aspen and Santa Barbara.

Luketic directed the smash hit comedy Legally Blonde for MGM in the summer of 2001. This film, which grossed close to $100 million domestically and was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, marked Luketic's feature film directing debut.

Next, Luketic directed the Dreamworks picture Win a Date with Tad Hamilton. This film, produced by Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher at Red Wagon, stars Kate Bosworth, Nathan Lane, Josh Duhamel and Topher Grace.

Luketic is developing a slate of projects including a feature film version of the iconic television show, Dallas. Robert Harling (Steel Magnolias) is writing, while Michael Costigan is producing for Twentieth Century Fox/New Regency.

In addition, Luketic is developing a supernatural romantic drama, One of Us, written by Gerald DiPego (The Forgotten) with Alan Riche and Peter Guber producing for Revolution Studios. Also on Luketic's slate is Matt Helm, for Dreamworks with Team Todd producing. This action-adventure film is based on a series of spy novels written by Donald Hamilton and will mark a major genre-breaking franchise for Luketic.

Other projects include the comedy Girl Most Likely To with producer Marc Platt, and 21 based on the novel Bringing Down the House by Ben Mezrich.

Luketic currently resides in Los Angeles.
