The Romans are still playing competitive football after 20 years and regularly play against the best teams the UK has to offer. In 1999, the Romans won the Division 2 championship and gained their place in the top division. After a poor 2005 season the Romans were relegated back to Division 2.

The Roman's club motto is “Strength and Honour” echoing the Motto of the Roman Army.

The Romans play home games at Chester RUFC, Hare Lane, Chester. It boasts a main stand, as well as a bar and food is available at all home games.

The Romans have a Youth Academy that is trying to bring American Football to children under 18 in Chester and its surrounding area. Since the Romans Youth academy has been set up, a number of local youngsters interested in the sport have come through the ranks and now play for the senior team and some at a national level. Matches are played against other youth teams within the North West, with the primary aim being to educate those under the age of 18 on confidence, teamwork and also an in-depth knowledge of American Football.
