Public transport route planner

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A public transport route planner is a Web application designed for public transport. The application prompts a user to input departure and arrival places, and finds a door-to-door route between the two. A route planner often accommodates travel using different means of transport, including rapid transit, railways, buses and ferries. Optional fields may include times of departure or arrival.

Some transportation authorities include a public transport route planner on their websites. Other third-party websites offer trip planning services for large metropolitan areas.

The TfL and SE Traveline journey planners are two of several in Europe built using the IJP product of Mentz Datenverarbeitung GmbH
