The Rusty Tinamou, Crypturellus brevirostris, also known as Short-billed Tinamou, is a type of Tinamou commonly found in swamp forest in tropical regions up to 500 m altitude. It may also be found in lowland moist forest habitats. This species is native to north-central Brazil, Colombia, Guyana and French Guiana in South America. It has an estimated global extent of occurrence of 640,000 km².

The Rusty Tinamou is approximately 27 to 29 cm in length. Its upperparts rufous, boldly barred with black. Its throat white, breast bright rufous, belly white and flanks barred black. Its crown chestnut in color with legs yellowish-grey.
