Sabre Holdings or Sabre, Inc. NYSE: TSG is an S&P 500 company, encompassing several brands in three global travel distribution channels: travel agency, airline, and direct to consumer. These areas are serviced by TSG's three main business groups. Divisions within each of these groups also service the business or corporate travel market.

Other key Sabre Holdings brands include the following:

Sabre Holdings grew out of American Airlines and spun off with an IPO on March 15, 2000. It now employs approximately 6000 people worldwide. It is headquartered in Southlake, Texas.

On December 12, 2006, private-equity firms Texas Pacific Group and Silver Lake Partners announced a deal to buy Sabre Holdings Corp. for about $4.5 billion in cash, plus the assumption of $550 million in debt. This was thought to be a necessary process as Sabre's 3 primary GDS competitors (Galileo, Amadeus and Worldspan) are all privately owned. This put Sabre at a competitive disadvantage due to the need to publicly release information in accordance with SEC regulations that others were not subject to.

Sabre's main competitors in the travel agency and airline markets are Worldspan, Amadeus, and Galileo. Travelocity's main competitors globally are Expedia and Orbitz.
