Saint-Quentin is a commune of northern France. It has been identified as the Augusta Veromanduorum of antiquity. It is named for Saint Quentin, who is said to have been martyred here in the 3rd century.

Saint-Quentin is a sous-préfecture of the Aisne département, part of the Picardie région. Although Saint-Quentin is by far the largest city in Aisne, the préfecture (capital) resides in the third-largest city of Laon.
The mayor of Saint-Quentin is conservative Pierre André, member of Nicolas Sarkozy's UMP Party.
