Sam Cordingley (born 20 March 1976 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian rugby union footballer. He currently plays for the Queensland Reds in the international Super 14 competition. Cordingley has represented Australia as well. He was educated at the St Patrick's Marist school.
He played his junior rugby for the Dundas Valley club. He made his debut for Queensland against Auckland in 1999. Cordingley subsequently made his Super 12 debut for the Queensland Reds that season in a match against the Wellington Hurricanes. The following season he was called up to the Wallabies squad and made his debut against Argentina. The Wallabies went on to win both the Tri Nations and Bledisloe Cup that year.
He is now back at the Reds after three seasons in Europe with Welsh side Swansea and Grenoble of France. In his 50th match for the Reds he suffered an injury to his foot. Although he only appeared seven times for the Reds in the 2006, his form was enough to see him selected for the Wallabies squad.
