San Francisco Sex Information

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

San Francisco Sex Information is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that provides free, accurate, non-judgmental sex information via the World Wide Web, email, telephone, and training programs. Founded in 1972, the graduates of its training program include some of the best known writers, entrepreneurs, and advice columnists in the sex industry, including Isadora Alman, Joani Blank, Susie Bright, Patrick Califia, Sybil Holiday, Andrea Nemerson, and Carol Queen, as well as other figures in the sex industry such as Fetish Diva Midori and Tantric Healer Triambika. The organization answers about 3000 phone calls and about twice as many emails every year. Since its inception, SFSI's Basic Sex Educator training program has graduated over 1500 trainees, and is considered unique in its presentation of human sexuality in a purely descriptive and non-judgmental manner, as opposed to the more common proscriptive and prescriptive approach. Mission statement: To provide accurate non-judgmental information about sex.
