Sash! had a string of hits in the UK in 1997-1998 with "Encore Une Fois", "Ecuador", "Stay" and "Mysterious Times", all of which peaked at #2 in the UK singles chart. In fact, they hold the record for having the most #2 UK singles (a total of five) there, without ever reaching #1. They are still active today, but with less success. Indeed, their last album was never released in the United Kingdom.
Sash! have always been acclaimed for their unique ability to create popular dance hits incorporating the music style and language of a particular ethnic group. This can be seen by simply examining the group's discography. "Stay", "Mysterious Times" and "Just Around The Hill" were performed in English, "Encore une Fois" in French, "Adelante" and "Ecuador" in Spanish, La Primavera in Italian, The Trip in Finnish, Together Again in Danish and "Ganbareh!" in Japanese.
Dance group Faithless have expressed their displeasure[1] with the fact that elements of their song Insomnia were used by Sash! for Encore Une Fois.
Besides Sash!, the trio have also produced tracks for some of their collaborators, including Sabine Ohmes in the project Encore!, and Peter Faulhammer as Martillo Vago (a Spanish transliteration of Faulhammer's last name). Lappessen is also a member of project Careca, while Kappmeier and Lüdke work as the production duo Tokapi, producing tracks for other projects such as Lacara, Poetry 'N' Motion and Magnificent 4 (alongside Bossi of Cosmic Gate and Jaspa Jones of Blank & Jones). Tokapi also work under the alias Ricardo de Tornato.

It has been since September 2004 since Sash! have finished making their new album, but due to negotiations with record companies worldwide, the album/singles are still delayed.
In October 2006 Sash! revealed that they will have new material out around Christmas time, but it has not come to be.
Since the November of 2006, the Sashworld website experienced a lull and was taken down. A temporary forum was reopened from December 23rd to January 31st. The Sashworld website has now been relaunched.
Club Dance Only was a monthly radio show that was DJ'ed by Sascha, and it played on several dance radio stations throughout Europe from January 2004 until September 2005. One used to be able to visit the website by going to www.clubdanceonly.com, but now it only redirects one back to the Sashworld site. Currently, there are no known plans to resume this radio show.
