Sassello is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about 35 km west of Genoa and about 20 km north of Savona. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,768 and an area of 100.3 km2.[1]

The municipality of Sassello contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Badani, Maddalena, Pratovallarino, Palo, Alberola, and Pianpaludo.

Sassello borders the following municipalities: Arenzano, Cogoleto, Genoa, Mioglia, Pareto, Pontinvrea, Ponzone, Stella, Tiglieto, Urbe, and Varazze.
