Saukville is a village in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 4,068 at the 2000 census. Most of the village perimeter is bordered by the Town of Saukville. The remaining part is bordered by the adjacent Town of Port Washington.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 7.8 km² (3.0 mi²). 7.7 km² (3.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (1.66%) is water.

Saukville was established on April 4, 1848 along the Milwaukee River. Previously, it was part of the old Port Washington area. Settlers began living in the area as early as 1845 and 1846. Before the white settlers came to the Saukville, the area was inhabited by the Native Americans, including the Sauk tribe.

Some of the first settlers to Saukville were: Lott Blanchard, George C. Daniels, Joseph Fischbein, William Foster, Joseph Fowler, Stephen McIntosh, William Payne, Lemuel Sezer, Jonathan Tibetts and E. Wadsworth.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 4,068 people, 1,583 households, and 1,104 families residing in the village. The population density was 527.1/km² (1,366.3/mi²). There were 1,639 housing units at an average density of 212.4/km² (550.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 97.42% White, 0.57% Black or African American, 0.15% Native American, 0.61% Asian, 0.32% from other races, and 0.93% from two or more races. 2.19% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 1,583 households out of which 38.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.2% were married couples living together, 10.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.2% were non-families. 24.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.07.

In the village the population was spread out with 27.5% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 34.8% from 25 to 44, 21.0% from 45 to 64, and 7.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 103.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.5 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $53,159, and the median income for a family was $62,436. Males had a median income of $41,625 versus $28,583 for females. The per capita income for the village was $22,035. About 1.4% of families and 3.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.4% of those under age 18 and 9.5% of those age 65 or over.
