The Savoia-Marchetti SM.82 Canguru was an Italian bomber and transport aircraft of World War II. It was a cantilever, mid-wing monoplane trimotor with a retractable, tailwheel undercarriage.

The SM.82 was developed from the earlier SM.75 Marsupiale civil transport as a heavy bomber and transport aircraft. The prototype first flew in 1939.
It its primary role, the SM.82 proved underpowered. As a result, it was mainly used in its secondary role as a transport, in which it proved highly successful. It was equipped with special equipment to ease loading and the cabin was capacious enough to hold a dismantled CR.42 fighter. In the trooping role, it was fitted with forty folding seats but it often carried many more.
Around 400 were manufactured, entering service in 1941. A number were operated as transports by the Luftwaffe. After the armistice of 1943, the type continued in service with both fascist and co-belligerent forces.
After the war, about thirty continued in service with the air force until the early 1960s.
