Saw IV is a horror film to be directed by Darren Lynn Bousman[1], who directed Saw II and Saw III, and is the fourth installment to the popular Saw series. It will be released in theatres on October 26, 2007[2]. James Wan and Leigh Whannell are returning as executive producers.[3]

Production offices opened on February 12th to begin the pre-production period. The filming of Saw IV is set to begin on April 16, 2007[4] for 6 weeks[5]. The filming location for the horror film is Toronto, Canada[6], the same place both Saw II[7] and Saw III[8] were filmed.

Numerous writers have been writing scripts for the fourth installment of the Saw horror franchise. The story chosen for the movie is written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan[9] who together wrote the script for Feast.

According to a rumor site[10], the series creator/producer, Leigh Whannell, has once said that many unanswered questions from Saw III will be answered, such as the tape Jigsaw poured wax over, Obi's connection to Jigsaw, among other things. Also, another rumor site[11] credited Jigsaw/John actor, Tobin Bell, as admitting that he signed up for Saw IV.
