When Winfred-Louder has to close early due to an oncoming ice storm, Drew reluctantly agrees to carpool with the Optimists Club. Drew accidentally misses his ride when his computer suddenly catches on fire. The Optimists Club gets into an car accident, and one of its members is killed in the accident. Mimi assumes that the person who died is Drew and tells everyone in the store. Believing that divine intervention preventing him from being in the accident, Drew questions his purpose in life. He goes home and discovers a note in an old Bible in which he wrote his goals he wanted to accomplish for the future. Drew goes to his church and decides to ask his pastor how he can become a minister. Drew attempts to start living his life according to what the Bible says. When an argument develops between two co-workers over ownership of a cat, he suggests cutting it in half according to a similar situation in the Bible. The two workers are appalled at Drew's judgment and decide to share the cat instead. Eventually, Drew goes back to his church to submit a questionnaire about his knowledge of religion. While the pastor is looking over Drew's questionnaire that he filled out to determine his ideology, a woman comes into the church and mistakenly assumes that he is a minister. The woman is experiencing multiple problems and Drew has a difficult time attempting to figure out how to solve her problems. Drew then tells the woman that he is not the minister, which makes her angry. To make up for this, he offers her a job at Winfred-Louder. Drew's minister comes into the church and tells Drew that he failed the questionnaire. Drew is at first disappointed, but realizes that he can help people in his current position. At the conclusion of the episode, Drew persuades his minister in attempting to perform an exorcism on Mimi.
