Career Highlights

Scott Pendlebury (born January 7, 1988) is an Australian rules footballer who plays in the Australian Football League.

Originally from Sale, Pendlebury was taken with pick 5 in the 2005 National Draft by Collingwood after he impressed in his first season in the TAC Cup Under 18 Competition with the 2005 premiers, Gippsland Power. A talented sportsmen, Pendlebury was weighing up between a basketball or football career, in which he chose the latter. Pendlebury made a good start at the Pies, playing solid football with Williamstown and he made his AFL debut in Round 10 against the Brisbane Lions where he would kick a goal with his first kick in league football. He played 9 games in his debut year, including some highlights, none so better than his 'steal' from Sydney's Paul Williams.

Pendlebury is considered a versatile midfielder likened to Nick Dal Santo. Trademarks of his play include his ability to evade tackles and find space to dispose of the ball. At 190cm tall and weighing 82kg, he is part of the "new breed" of AFL midfielders, who are quick, evasive and big enough to give aerial contests.

As of the 2007 season, Pendlebury has handed over his number 16 Guernsey he wore in his debut season to Nathan Brown, taking over the number 10 which had been worn by Blake Caracella until his recent retirement.
