Scriptment

A scriptment is an outline of a movie or TV show that is considerably longer than a normal treatment. The term "scriptment" was originally coined by film maker James Cameron.[citation needed] A scriptment is like a screenplay, however most of the dialogue is summarized in action, making it easier to edit and change the story as it develops. Usually directors, not writers write scriptments, since most of it is focused on action, not dialogue. A scriptment can be anywhere from 20-80 pages, while regular treatments only sumarize the plot in a few pages.
