Shadow Mountain Community Church is a congregation of Baptist believers located in El Cajon, California. The current Senior Pastor is Dr. David Jeremiah who has led the church since 1981. The church is also affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. The campus where Shadow Mountain Community Church is located is also the home of Christian Unified Schools of San Diego, San Diego Christian College (formerly Christian Heritage College), and the Southern California Bible College and Seminary. Another ministry of Dr. Jeremiah's (since 1982) is Turning Point Ministries, which can be heard and seen on radio & television stations worldwide. Turning Point is actually located in Lakeside, CA.

The previous senior pastor for the church was Dr. Tim LaHaye who led the church for at least 25 years, prior to Dr. Jeremiah when it was known as Scott Memorial Baptist Church. Dr. LaHaye was also a co-founder of the Christian schools on the campus and Christian Heritage College. Dr. LaHaye also wrote the apocalyptic Left Behind series.

It was in 1909 when a retired American Civil War captain, Chaplain Winfield Scott, held his first meeting. Through many changes, relocations, and facelifts, the church continues to grow and thrive.

Evangelizing our community and the rest of the non-believing world through faithfully proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8)

Edifying, bringing believers to spiritual maturity by effectively ministering the Word of God to others in the Body of Christ (Colossians 1:28)

Educating the whole man through our Church, Christian School and College Educational Ministries (I Peter 4:10)

Providing a place of worship where all who desire may praise the Lord and grow spiritually (Colossians 1:18)
