Shakedown! is a debut album by theSTART. Recorded in 1999, shelved in 2000 and finally released in 2001, Shakedown! is loaded with earworm-generating pop hooks, Aimee Echo's admirable vocal prowess and Jamie Miller's six-stringed slamming and smoldering circuitry. The album draws comparison to some 80's new wave influences such as Depeche Mode and Missing Persons, as well as pop trendsetters U2, Duran Duran and Madonna.

Shakedown! was originally set for release in 2000 by the title Circles and would have included early re-recorded tune "Be Mine" that appeared on the band's original demo, as well as new songs "Make it Thru" and "The Sin Original," that featured a guest vocal by Jay Gordon of Orgy. "Make it Thru" is currently featured in the player on theSTART's MySpace profile.
