Simon Goodwin (born 26 December 1976) is an Australian rules footballer with the Adelaide Football Club.
Recruited from South Adelaide in the SANFL, Goodwin made his debut in 1997 and was a part of Adelaide's 1997 and 1998 premiership sides. He has received All-Australian selections in 2000, 2001, 2005 and 2006, and is also a three-time Best and Fairest winner of the Malcolm Blight Medal, claiming victory in 2000, 2005 and 2006.
On the early hours of 22 December 2005, Goodwin was involved in an incident with a photographer from The Advertiser newspaper while at a private function. Goodwin has since apologised for his threat to the photographer that he would "punch your lights out".
Goodwin was adjudged best on ground in the 2006 NAB Cup Grand Final, and was the first player to be awarded the Michael Tuck Medal on the losing side.
On the 1st of March 2007, Goodwin was fined $40,000($20,000 suspended) and ordered to undertake compulsory counseling for placing four bets involving AFL matches totaling $16,024.58. Goodwin along with three other players became the first players in AFL history to be caught for betting on AFL matches.
