Sir Wilfrid Laurier Elementary School is located in the Marpole community on 57th Avenue at Laurel Street. It was named after Sir Wilfrid Laurier the Prime Minister of Canada from 1896 to 1911.

The building has a library, a multipurpose room/cafeteria, and a gym/auditorium. There are two portable classrooms that are adjacent to the building. There used to be three portables, but around Halloween time in 1996, one of the portables was burnt down.

An extension to the south of the main school building was constructed several years ago. This new extension was part of a project to make the school wheelchair-accessible. Part of this extension was an automatic door at the ground level, and elevator for access to ground, first, and second floors. In addition, a wheelchair lift was constructed to provide access to the gymnasium for the disabled. A new emergency exit was also constructed as part of the south extension. All of the lighting inside the school was replaced during the 20052006 school year in order to make the light fixtures earthquake-resistant.

There are 6 basketball hoops, a covered play-area, playground structures, tennis courts, and a gravel field on the school's property. Additionally there are several picnic tables and benches near the playground area.

Laurier is located to the north and south of Ideal Mini School and Churchill Secondary respectively.
