Sneek (pronunciation (help·info), Frisian Snits) is a municipality and a city in Fryslân in the northern Netherlands.

Sneek received city rights in 1456. The city is well known for its Waterpoort (litt. Water gate) and the Sneekweek, a yearly sailing festival. Sneek is one of the eleven cities of the Elfstedentocht.
