Soliloquy Learning is a private company based out of Waltham, Massachusetts. The company was founded in 2000 by Dr. Marilyn Jager Adams, education researcher, and Joseph Costello, a technology entrepreneur and investor.
Soliloquy Learning makes Soliloquy Reading Assistant, which uses speech recognition technology to provide assistance to students learning to read. The speech recognition technology was developed under the leadership of Dr. Valerie Beattie. The program was released in 2002 and is now available in a networked version as well as through web delivery.
