Sonny Anderson da Silva Nilmar (born September 19, 1970 in Goiatuba) is a football (soccer) player from Brazil. He played as a forward for Olympique de Marseille, AS Monaco, FC Barcelona and Olympique Lyonnais where he became a "legend" of the club with which he never ceased to keep contacts and where he still works now that his football career is over. He is considered to be the origin of the "Brazilian Connection" at the Olympique Lyonnais. Sonny Anderson is known for wearing his socks above his knees, and has inspired Thierry Henry to do the same: Henry does this as a tribute to him.

He's now trainer of Olympique Lyonnais striker's.

He won the French Ligue 1 Championship three times, the Brazilian Championship once, La Liga (Spanish Championship) twice and the Swiss Championship once.

He was highest scorer in the Swiss Super League in 1993, of the French Ligue 1 Championship in 1996, 2000 and 2001.

He represented Brazil seven times, scoring once in a friendly match in 1997.
