Soqotri is the native language of the island of Socotra off the southern coast of Yemen. It is a south Semitic language. Soqotri speakers are only rarely found in the Yemeni mainland. This makes the language isolated from the rest of Yemen. The Arabic language is also spoken there as well as the Soqotri.
