The South East Division of the Queensland Rugby League (QRL) is responsible for the running of rugby league in South-East Queensland. This makes the South East Division responsible for the FOGS Cup, FOGS Colts Challenge and Brisbane Second Division competitions. This Division also administers the City team in the annual QRL City-Country match.

In 2007 the South East Division will be merged with the Southern Division to form the South East Queensland Division, decreasing the number of QRL divisions from 6 to 5. [1]

The FOGS Cup and FOGS Colts Challenge competitions are one and two divisions below the Queensland Cup respectively. They are run by the QRL South East Division. Due to a sponsorship arrangements, the competitions were formerly known as the Quest Cup (up until 2003), The Mixwell Cup (2003-05) and from 2006 will be known as the FOGS (Former Queensland State of Origin Greats of Queensland) took over the sponsorship.

In 1971 the Brisbane Rugby League (BRL) began a second division competition. This competition was for Under 23 teams in three grades, and was contested by the BRL clubs, University, Teachers and eight "satellite" clubs. By 1977 there were 15 teams competing in Northern and Southern Zones. Since 1981 the Second Division has used Davies Park, West End as its headquarters and finals venue.

There are four teams from 1971 that are still competing in the Second Division: Brighton, St Brendans, Sunnybank and Bulimba Valleys (formerly Valley United Stars). The most successful clubs between 1977 and 2004 have been Carina (12 premierships), Sunnybank (12), St Brendans (10) and Banyo (8).

In 2006 more than 2700 players in 77 teams from 55 clubs will participate.[2] The Brisbane Second Division is one of the biggest Rugby League competitions in the world.
