The Soccer tournament at the 2007 South Pacific Games will be held at the Platter Soccer Stadium in Samoa in from 24 August to 7 September 2007. [1] It will form the first stage of the Oceania Football Confederation's (OFC) qualification tournament for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and will be the qualification tournament for the 2008 OFC Nations Cup. [2]

There will be 11 teams divided into 2 groups. The gold medal, silver medal and bronze medal teams will qualify for the 2008 OFC Nations Cup, which will also act as the next stage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying tournament for countries in the OFC. New Zealand have already received a bye to this stage.

This tournament may include teams who are not members of FIFA like Tuvalu as at 25 February. It is unsure what procedure will occur should teams reach qualifying places for tournaments for which they are not eligible.
