Sovereign Bank Arena

The Sovereign Bank Arena (also referred to as the Mercer County Arena) is an 8,500 seat capacity arena in Trenton, New Jersey, that is home to the Trenton Titans and host numerous events every year. The 2000 and 2001 The Northeast Conference men's basketball tournaments were held there as was the 2003 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament. The 2009 edition of the MAAC tourney is scheduled to as well.

Sovereign Bank Arena is a seven year old, $53 million multipurpose facility. The Arena opened its doors to the public for the first time on October 6, 1999 with a World Wrestling Federation event. Since opening, the Arena has hosted over 1200 events with over 4,000,000 guests attending and has Sold Out such shows as Cher, Bruce Springsteen (2 shows), World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Shania Twain, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Lord of the Dance, Luciano Pavarotti, Champions on Ice, WWE SmackDown!, The Harlem Globetrotters, Target/Smucker’s Stars On Ice, Creed, Elton John, 98 Degrees, matchbox twenty, Tool, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and The 2004-2005 Kelly Cup Champion Trenton Titans ECHL Hockey Games. The Arena has often been a stop on the Boston Pops Holiday Tours with their last performance given December 17th, 2006, under conductor Keith Lockhart. Although Barbra Streisand did not play the Arena, she rehearsed there for four days prior to her opening in Philadelphia October 4th, 2006, at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, PA.

The Arena seats approximately 8,100 for hockey and other ice events, 9,000 for basketball, and up to 10,000 for concerts, family shows, and other events. The facility has 1,150 private club seats, as well as 34 private luxury suites and is the largest arena in Southern New Jersey. The Sovereign Bank Arena was designed and built to exceed all ADA specifications to accommodate guests with disabilities. Located in Mercer County, the Arena draws on a captive audience of over seven million people within a 40-mile radius. The arena is located next to, and served by, the Hamilton Avenue station on NJ Transit's River Line, including easy automobile access to NJ 129.

The Arena is host to many events including hockey, basketball, concerts, ice shows, athletic events, family shows, trade shows, and conventions. It is also the home of the 2005 Kelly Cup Champion Trenton Titans of the East Coast Hockey League.

The arena is managed by Global Spectrum, a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based arm of sports and entertainment conglomerate Comcast-Spectacor.
