Spearhead

A spearhead is the head of a spear. Early spearheads were made of obsidian, flint, bone or simply a sharpened and fire-harded tip of the shaft; more effective spearheads are fashioned of metal.
Spearhead can be used as a verb to describe aggressive leadership of an effort, such as the ratification of a law, the advancement of a belief, or the creation of an institution.
