Special Effects: Anything Can Happen is an Academy Award-nominated 1996 documentary film in the IMAX format narrated by John Lithgow. The film is directed by veteran Star Wars sound designer Ben Burtt.

This IMAX film is an exploration of special effects techniques used in motion pictures, including traditional special effects up to modern computer generated effects. It is also notable for featuring an early glimpse at the making of some of the effects which would be featured in the special edition version of Star Wars: A New Hope, released one year later in 1997.
