Princess Srirasmi (born December 9, 1971) is the current consort of Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand. She was born Srirasmi Akharaphongpreecha (Thai: ศรีรัศมิ์ อัครพงศ์ปรีชา) and now has surname Mahidol na Ayudhaya. Her formal name and title is Phrachaoworawongther Phra-ongchao Srirasmi Phraworachaya nai Somdej Phraborom Orasathiraj Siammakut Rajakumari (Her Royal Highness Princess Srirasmi, the Royal Consort of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn).

Srirasmi was born in Samut Songkhram to a commoner family of modest means. She was the third daughter of Aphirut (Thai: อภิรุจ) and Wanthanee (Thai: วันทนีย์) Akharaphongpreecha. She had a total of 4 siblings.^[1]

She attended high school at Bangkok Accounting College. In 1993 at the age of 22, Sriramsi entered the service of Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn, as a civil servant in charge of "waiting on him". Srirasmi enrolled in Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University in 1997 and graduated in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in management science.

Srirasmi married the crown prince on 10 February 2001 at a low-key ceremony at Nonthaburi Palace. The public was informed of the event some time afterwards. The Prince, who had married once before and had children with several common law wives, stated his intention to settle down: “I am now 50 years old and think I should have a complete family.”^[2] After the wedding, she was styled Mom Srirasmi Mahidol na Ayudhya (Mahidol is the surname of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and King Ananda Mahidol, whereas na Ayudhya signifies an indirect line, i.e., she was 'married' into the family).

On Valentines Day, 15 February 2005, it was announced that Srirasmi was pregnant. On 29 April 2005, a healthy son was born via Caesarean section at Siriraj Hospital, named Dipangkorn Rasmijoti.

Because of the birth, she was granted by King Bhumibol Adulyadej the title Her Royal Highness Princess Srirasmi, the Royal Consort of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn.

A royal ceremony, called Phra Ratchaphithi Somphot Duan Lae Khuen Phra U, to celebrate the first month of the baby was held on June 17, 2005 at the Grand Palace in Bangkok[2].

Srirasmi initiated and launched the "Sai Yai Rak Jak Mae Su Luk" (Love and care from mother to children) campaign which promoted breast feeding[3]. Srirasmi herself breast fed her son for 7 months[4].

Naked pictures of Srirasmi became widely distributed among the public. Palace officials had to warn local journalists that they would be arrested if caught emailing them.^[3]
