St. Paul's School is an independent K-12 college-preparatory school in Brooklandville, Maryland, on a 149-acre rural campus in the Green Spring Valley, about ten miles north of the city of Baltimore. St. Paul's was founded in 1849 at Old St. Paul's Parish in Baltimore City by Reverend William Edward Wyatt.
Today, St. Paul's is co-ed through the fourth grade, but all-male from fifth through twelfth grade. However, its all-girls sister school St. Paul's School for Girls is located on an adjacent campus. The Upper Schools share some foreign language and certain elective classes.

St. Paul's offers a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum for students in the Upper School (grades 9-12). Over 99% of each graduating class matriculates to a four-year college.
The St. Paul's academic experience is known for its excellent faculty, small class sizes, collegial student-teacher relationships and strong focus on the liberal arts. The school recently established an IB Diploma Program to further enrich a curriculum of Advanced Placement and Honors courses.
The Arts also make up an important element of St.Paul's identity. Courses offered include theater, singers, and visual arts.
St. Paul's places a strong emphasis on athletics. Students are required to participate in a sport during each of the three seasons Freshman and Sophomore years, and two of three seasons Junior and Senior years. The school is known for its varsity lacrosse teams, which have had a rich history of competition in the highly-competitive MIAA league against rivals like the Gilman School, Boys' Latin and others. Recently however, the school's athletics department underwent a serious change. The athletics requirement is now incorporating a phycial education class into the day as well as creating a points system where each student is required to get a certain number of points in order to meet their requirement. Each activity is assigned a different activity. Team sports are 2 points while drama productions are 1. A full time manager would earn 2 points while a game manager would earn 1.
Freshman and Sophomores: 4 Points Juniors: 2 Points Seniors: 1 Point
In the past few years, the St. Paul's hockey team has gone to the championships three times, and the golf team has won the 'A' Conference championship five of the past six years. The St. Paul's cross-country team won the 'B' Conference Championships in 2006 after an undefeated season. The Varsity volleyball team competed in the 'B' Conference Playoffs in only its second year of competition, losing to Boys' Latin three games to two.
