St Cuthberts High School

St. Cuthbert's High School is a boys-only Catholic secondary school based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. As of 2006 it had 1200 students. The school was originally situated on Bath Lane in the centre of the city and moved to its current site in Denton Burn in 1922. The school is built directly over the Roman Vallum and the current year 9 and 10 block is due to undergo extensive refurbishment over the next few years.

The school recently (in 2005-2006), the gained a new block for sciences, information technology and craft, design and tecnology hosting 9 laboratories, 3 IT rooms and 5 CDT rooms

In recent years, St. Cuthbert's High School gained Science School status and for a long time has been a beacon school in the field of English and Modern Foreign Languages.

St Cuthbert's High School is this year celebrating its 125th Anniversary with a special evening hosted by Bishop Kevin Dunn on Friday 24th November 2006.

In 2000 55% of students earned 5 or more GCSEs at grade C or above, compared to a Newcastle average of 35% and the national average of 49%. In 2005 64% of students earned 5 or more GCSEs at grade C or above.
