Stanley Benton (born July 24, 1979), better known as Stat Quo, is an Atlanta-based African-American rapper signed to Eminem's Shady Records and Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment. He has been generating mixtape buzz since 2002.[citation needed] He is also a part of Grown Man Music, a record label he founded with LT Moe. Benton attended University of Florida, where he majored in economics, before pursuing a musical career.

His debut album Statlanta was expected to be released in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 but has inexplicably been repeatedly pushed back. Stat Quo is also featured on Young Buck's Straight Outta Cashville, Eminem's Eminem Presents The Re-Up and on the track "Spend Some Time" on Eminem's Encore. Stat has appeared on tracks with artists such as Jermaine Dupri,The Alchemist, The Game, Disturbing tha Peace and Chamillionaire.

Stat Quo recently shot a video for his club banger entitled "Like Dat". This video was shot in Atlanta's Zone 3 near the Thomasville Heights projects where Stat Quo once resided.

The Atlanta bred rapper was featured on the summer 2005 Anger Management Tour which also featured Eminem, 50 Cent, G-Unit, Obie Trice, D12, and others. The Aftermath/Shady debut album Statlanta is still in the works.

On July 13, 2005, the tour bus carrying Eminem's entourage (including newly appointed DJ Alchemist) for the summer's Anger Management tour swerved off the road and turned over. Stat Quo, who was listed on the accident report by his real name, Stanley Benton, was taken to Independence Regional Health Center in Independence, Missouri, where he was treated and released. [1]

Stat Quo has said that his "number one goal is to bring a respect, and bring a voice to this whole southern movement around the world".[2]

Stat Quo has started his own label called Grown Man Music.

His major debut Statlanta has been pushed back from an August 28 release to sometime in October. No word yet as to why the album has been rescheduled.
